Our
base consultants were part of an organization that introduced Japanese
manufacturing techniques to the U.S. in the late 1970's-early 80's,
when it was called "Just-in-Time". These techniques were the forefront
of what is now known as lean manufacturing, derived directly from the
Toyota Production System. As a result they were able to have early,
hands-on experience with Just-in-Time and Lean Production applications.
Since then Rockford Consulting Group has supported companies who wish
to achieve world class performance and become market leaders with Lean

An Illinois corporation, our Lean Manufacturing Consultants specialize in purchasing, manufacturing, outsourcing, manufacturing and distribution operations management consulting. All consultants engaged on projects adhere to its principles. Whenever possible we will use consultants certified in their particular specialty area.
Certification ensures that a specialist has substantial prior experience in their specialty, and their competencies have been tested by the IMC, and verified by a significant number of clients. This assures our clients that we are assigning the highest qualified consultants in the profession.
Specialists on a client assignment may have up to 30+ years consulting experience. Rockford Consulting Group applies concepts and technologies as the situation warrants, which will result in the ultimate benefit to our clients. We treat technologies as tools in a tool-chest, and use them when they offer practical solutions and achievable results. We believe that each client situation is unique, with its own unique set of solutions.
A fresh objective view is always maintained, with no preconceived solutions or fads. We develop practical and implementable manufacturing management solutions, based on decades of experience. Using team-building techniques, we facilitate the process of developing technical and organizational strategies and transform them into executable, and measurable short-term actions. Our clients learn to sustain the process, gaining the ownership required for success.
All of our staff have direct, hands-on operational experience in early parts of their careers. Many consultants were engineers, machine operators, manufacturing engineering managers, and purchasing managers. This provides sensitivity and insight to operational issues; i.e., they know how factories and businesses work.
We do not employ consultants inexperienced in manufacturing, and/or distribution. Most of our manufacturing consulting staff have international experience, having worked in countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, France, Germany, England, Ireland, Italy, China, or Russia.
We work primarily with publicly and privately owned corporations, or divisions of large corporations, from $30mm to $400mm in sales revenue. Our hands-on experience spans a wide range of environments, which reach from business services, consumer products, through high-tech. Industries served are service, automotive, aerospace, durable consumer products, rubber, plastics, electronics, off-road vehicles, and distribution.
